Friends,
I hope that you were able to attend one of our Church at Home gatherings on Saturday night. The group that met at our house was able to witness us in our moving-weary, emotion-weary state. Others came tired from travels. Others just came tired of life. And we sat there in our comfortable setting, no pretenses necessary, and really were blessed by the evening, perhaps most of all by the youth among us (six good thinkers, including three musicians to lead our singing), whose not-so-weary states helped buoy the rest of us.
The discussion about the name of the Lord was good, with some interesting conversation about how we show proper respect for a Master who is also our friend (a little something for you lovers of theological tension). Our communion (both the sacramental type and the informal meal type) was meaningful.
So how about you? In this first experience for us, what were some things that struck you about Church at Home? What was meaningful? What was fun?

I enjoyed it because with fewer people, it was more personal. It became more like a conversation, where we all said what we thought about the name of the Lord, what it means and the like. The main gatherings on Saturdays are great but this was a nice alternate way of learning more about God. I think a more equal balance between home groups (including life together groups) and large gatherings would do each of us a lot of good in furthering our spiritual knowledge and understanding.
Well said nad. It seemed like a life together meeting, except it was with a new group of people. I liked it. I always like gathering with a smaller group of believers where everyone has a chance to be a part of the conversation, including the young ones. That was the best part to me, giving the young children a voice in the gathering and valuing what each person had to give.
